The Market City Lion Dance & Martials Arts Festival celebrates the diverse nature of the arts of Lion Dance, Dragon Dance and of the Martial Arts.

The goal is present not just the most talented but also the most enthusiastic exponents of these arts to create an event that both enthralls and inspires the participants as well as the public.

The Lion Dance program will consist of two main types of Lion Dance performances, Freestyle (on Poles) and Traditional (on floor, benches tables, pots), Each Lion performance is accompanied by a group of cymbalists, a gong and drum.

On the martial arts side we're hoping to present a range of styles from around the world, from the explosive and dynamic thru to the tranquil and mediatative arts, its a great chance for those looking at taking up a martial art to see a number of styles in action on the one day.
